is Head of the Department of Social Health Problems at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University and Head of the Independent Laboratory of Sociology of Medicine at the Medical University in Lublin. Since 1990, he is the coordinator of the activities of the European Society of Sociology of Health and Medicine (ESHMS) in Poland.  The main areas of Professor’s interest are sociology of health, health promotion, sociology of medicine, sociology of nonmedical treatment, ecosociology.
